When I begin typing in the upper right search box, after a few letters are typed, a menu drops down with choices. When I click on a choice it doesn't appear in the search box and I have to type everything myself.

When I use the search box on the upper right and begin to type a word/words when the menu of possible choices appears and I click on the one I want, nothing happens. It doesn't automatically put it into the box like it used to and I have to type everything out.

THANK YOU so much! I disabled the add-on then got no drop down menu, so I enabled the add-0n again and now it's working when I click on an item in the menu. I appreciate your prompt and helpful reply.

How do I disable the Google Toolbar extensions?

more options

Click on "Tools" then "Add-on" then "Extensions" and one of your choices will be "disable". After you click on it, close Firefox. When I pulled it back up and typed in the upper right corner window, no menu dropped down. So I reversed the procedure, went to Tools, then Add-ons and extensions and clicked "enable" closed Firefox, reopened it and it was fixed. Now it works.

Thanks for the feedback but I have a problem with which "Tools." I have a button between "Resize" and "View Source" that I believe comes from the Google toolbar. Then there's the wrench icon just to the left of "Sign in" also on the Google toolbar. That produces a window with a tab labelled "Tools." Neither of these "Tools" windows contains "Add-on" so I'm somewhat at a loss how to continue. Too many cooks for too many apps :)

Didn't work for me. Got the drop-down but still won't transfer to Google box.

I found the Add-on manager (Firefox>Add-ons) that shows Google Toolbar for Firefox. That has a disable button so I push this and reboot.

No Google toolbar.

Go to Add-on manager again, enable the Toolbar and reboot.

Still same behaviour when I try and click on one of the suggestions from the drop down window from the Search. I can use the down arrow to select, but not the mouse pointer!
