"New tab" (Ctrl+T, File->New Tab, or "+") does NOT work; help!

I cannot open a new tab. Clicking on Help opens a new tab, but none of the other ways do: "New tab" (Ctrl+T, File->New Tab, or "+").

I am having this problem too and its driving me crazy when you figure it out can you please let me know

That is a problem with the Ask.com toolbar (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)
