I need to see the full URL IN THE URL LINE, NOT IN SOME TEENY DROPDOWN MENU. How do this???
I have my home page set to Google. When I ask for a website, I DO get to the desired home page, BUT the URL of the page I'm visiting is shown only in a stupid drop-down menu in which, so far as I can see, the URL can't be copied. I wouldn't mind if a SMALL google search box remained after I reach the desired page, but the main element in the taskbar should be the URL. // If I can't solve this problem very soon, I ABSOLUTELY AM GOING TO STOP USING FIREFOX. // Mozilla/Firefox may believe they can get away with what to me looks like super CHEAP trick to force people to keep using Google. But they might want to remember what happened to Quark Xpress m-- which thought it could do anything it wanted to it's users . . . and which, now, so far as I can see is NOWHERE.

Can you please provide a screenshot showing the issue? I have no idea what's happening to you, what with all the caps and all.
Hi, Attached is a shot of my screen after I have had Google search for the New York Times *and* after I have then clicked on the item Google returned that took me to the actual NY Times home page. // As you will see, there is *no* URL in the URL address line. Instead, there is just *another* Google search box -- this time a very long one. // Somewhat incredibly, when I pulled down the very narrow drop-down list just to the left of the URL address line (the one with the star in the header), I didn't even find the NY Times URL there at all -- not even the fragment of it that some forum users have reported. The last URL listed there was for the *previous* search. And, as many have noted, 1) the complete URL is not listed there *and* you couldn't copy it even if it were, because as soon as you take your mouse off the little headera the whole thing disappears.//Any help would be appreciated! // PS: When I preview this reply, I don't see the attached JPEG though *two* copies are actually attached because I tried a second time when I didn't see it in the preview. Hope it is attached!
The Location bar (aka URL bar) is tiny and the Search bar (where NY Times shows, with the Google icon on the left) is very wide.
Place the cursor between those two bars so the double-headed arrow <-> appears, then click and drag to the right, so the Search bar becomes smaller and the Location bar becomes larger.
Many, many thanks; you solved it completely.
Don't know how the header ended up in the short URL/Long Google Search configuration. But I'll remember, now, how to fix it if it occurs again.
