problem displaying images on ebay and amazon
When I access these websites there are no images displayed. The sites logos are absent as are all images of products for sale.
Chosen solution
See:
- Fix problems that cause images to not show
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Images_or_animations_do_not_load
- A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (How do I tell if my connection to a website is secure?) on the left end of the location bar.
- A click on the "More Information" button will open the Security tab of the "Page Info" window (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
- Go to the Media tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
- Select the first image link and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow key.
- If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
- You can see the permissions for the domain in the current tab in Tools > Page Info > Permissions
- You can see all image exceptions in Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions

Thanks Cor-el. Problem was in about:config file. Solved now thanks to you !
I have this problem with the thumbnail pics which normally appear in the left hand column of ebay listings. It just displays text "Item image". If I click on that and the images load, after closing that window the thumbnail DOES appear, but only while that page is open. Have tried all the suggested fixes listed above and found that the two integers in about:config were listed correctrly, but after I double-clicked them and re-typed them and Saved, then 'some' of the thumbanils would appear - but not all. Any ideas?
Okay, did some more digging in Help and was able to fix problem.
Followed the Uninstall Firefox (completely), which involves both Control Panel Add/Remove, and also removing the Mozilla Firefox folder from C:
I then reinstalled 3.6.15 and the problem was still there.
So I did some digging in Help and followed the CLA instructions here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Command_line_arguments
This fixed the problem.
Okay, so much for wishing!!
It worked fine until I shut down and rebooted, nw its back to the same old "Item Image" error message where the thumbanils should appear in the left hand column of all ebay listings.
This HAS to be the MOST fristrating 'glitch' I've yet come across.
And it's now WORSE in IE!!
The divisions (column deliniators?) in the listings are missing and the tect/pics are all run together like they are not in a table format any more.
What the doolallay is going one here people????
My old V3.6.14 was fine!!!!!!!
And now I can't access the older version, I can only find 3.6.15.......
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please? Pretty please? With sugar on top???
