Not able to update because the "license file" could not be found?

I am attempting to do a long needed update on my husbands lap top and when it went to update the computer and all the things that it needed to have updated, I got a pop up message saying:

"The license file for this version could not be found. Please visit the Firefox homepage for more information."

I have never had a pop up message like this before and am rather confused by it.

Could you please help me so I can call him and tell him how to finish updating his poor little laptop? (If it weren't for me being on top of things when he gets home from the road once a month, his computer wouldn't function at all!)

This is a glitch that can happen sometimes during software update; no license file / agreement is required to install Firefox.

You can try deleting some files as described at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Software_Update#Software_Update_not_working_properly and then retry the update.

Or you can just download and install the latest stability update to 3.5.x from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
