Applications can no longer access Firefox

more options

Applications can no longer find Firefox on my Windows 7 computer. For example, I can no longer click on links in Thunderbird emails and have them open. This use to work, but now they don't do anything. The same thing happens with URLs I have saved in Steganos Password Manager. I tried to uninstall Firefox to see if reinstalling would help, but nothing happens in the Windows Control Panel when I choose uninstall (I am running 7). I was running Firefox v3.6.6 when the problem started. I have since upgraded to 3.6.8, but I still have the same problem.

Problem solved.

Firefox thought it was the default browser, but other programs didn't know this unless I was logged on as admin.

I was able to force the default by following the instructions found in Setting_Your_Default_Browser on MozillaZine.
