Firefox automatically sets the zoom level to minimum for every page I load

Whenever I load any page Firefox automatically loads it zoomed right out, the only way I can prevent this is by changing the browser.zoom.siteSpecific value to false, however, this way it doesn't remember if I've zoomed in on a site.

Is there a way to restore the default zoom level to normal while still having firefox remember if I've zoomed in on a particular site? (This used to work fine, I don't know how it broke. I've tried restoring the profile but no change)

Make sure that you not run Firefox in Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode. In Private Browsing mode some menu items are disabled (grayed) and some features like visited links and others are disabled and not working. You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing". See Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history and http://kb.mozillazine.org/Issues_related_to_Private_Browsing ..... You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History" To see all History settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history UnCheck: [[ ] "Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session" --- If you need to increase (or decrease) the font size on websites then look at: Default FullZoom Level - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/6965 NoSquint - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/2592

i keep a few webpages that I regularly visit at a zoomed in state. this has been preserved by firefox during navigation or refreshes for as long as i've used the browser. as of yesterday's firefox update, it changes to default every time i do anything. extremely annoying.

Using a Proxy PAC file is another setting. Tools > Options > Advanced > Network: Connection: "Automatic proxy configuration URL"
