If I remove "flash player" will it hurt Firefox??

I wish to get rid of the "Flash player". I do not want it on my computer as it is a virus magnet. Will it hurt FF other than not being able to run flash animations. I have scanned my registry and found that it has wormed it's way into a lot of other programs and I want to take it out by editing my registry.

Dennis, Firefox will work fine without the Flash player or any other plugins, for that matter.

Close Firefox and follow instructions at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html to uninstall Flash.

Edit: To be clear, I am not endorsing manually editing your registry.

To disable the "missing plugins" yellow info bar for pages with Flash on them, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Disabling_yellow_plugin_bar_-_Firefox
