Where did my status bar go?

The status bar along the bottom of my browser is gone--the icons I'd had there are now on my toolbars, and I don't know how to get it back. Javascript is on, I've not done any updates to Firefox today, and it just ... disappeared. I don't like not being able to see where links go, and I hate not seeing how far a page has loaded.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

Chosen solution

To get your menu bar back go to View-->Toolbars-->Menu Bar

For your status bar go to View-->Check "Status Bar"

Why, yes, yes it did. I went through all the tough things to fix it, ignored the obvious one. Thanks!

View --> Status Bar isn't there to check.

Using Windows 7 Starter

Problem exists in Firefox and Minefield

The Status bar is gone in Minefield and has been replaced by the "View > Toolbars > Add-on Bar" that extensions can use.

It is possible that the screen is too high and that the status bar and scroll bar fall off at the bottom.

Open the system menu via Alt+Space and see if you can resize that window.

If that works then close Firefox to save that setting.

Check your add ons. (Control+Shift+A) Uninstall any that you're not using. Disable others one at a time and then click the Restart Firefox button. In my case this fixed the problem. Hope it helps.
