Embeded Windows Media Player: visualisations not working in Firefox
In IE my web page will play an mp3 with visualisations. In Firefox there are no visualisations, just a black screen. Can anyone tell me how to get the visualisations working in FF?

Hello Martin.
Although possibly not related to your problem, I will remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. Furthermore, it has known bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum stability, performance, security and usability. You can get it for free, as always, at getfirefox.com.
You may need to install an appropriate plugin. Firefox should detect which plugin it needs and ask you if you want to install it. If it doesn't, please provide us the link of the page where this happens so we can tell you which plugin it is.
If you are having problems using an already installed plugin (see plugins at Tools > Add-ons > Plugins), you need to contact its author for support.
Can you post a link?
Here's the Link In IE8 the mp3 file plays and win media player shows visualisations. In FF 3.6.3 no visualisations.
Morbus. thanks for your reply. In fact I had FF3.6.3 but had forgotton. Do I need to download (would the viewer need to download) the visualisations for the firefox media player plugin? If so I do not know how to do this. Thanks to you and cor el for taking an interest.
Nice sound :3
My Firefox is showing a visualization (a green line that bumps and stuff), and I only downloaded the WMP plugin (not now, I had it before), so it's probably a problem with your Firefox only... Try uninstalling the WMP plugin and installing it again... It looks to me like it's a problem with it, rather than Firefox.
If it still doesn't work, try creating a new Firefox profile (managing profiles) and trying... I don't know if it's possible, but maybe you have some setting or add-on that has some conflict with WMP?
In any case, it works from my end, so I assume the vast majority of users with WMP installed (which are not that many, I should say) will have it working too.
Hi Morbus (and anyone else), Thanks for your reply. Could you check This for me and compare it with IE. I'm thinking of making it my home page if it works for the majority of users. Thanks a lot Martin
Yes, it works correctly in terms of the visualization, but in my Internet Explorer, I can't see the sound controls, so you might want to look into that.
Thanks Morbus. Ive added conrols to IE (BYTW right clicking on the visualisation gets controls)
I'm still not getting visualisations in FF. I'll try reinstalling the plugin. Thanks for all your help.
