Muting Firefox, While Using Flash

Posted

I want to mute the firefox browser, and I have already seen a couple of questions on this. However, I am trying to use flash, so Flashblock or whatever will not work for this. I also saw a couple of good apps on some of these, but those were Mac only, and that wont work, i have an XP

== I began playing flash

Hello Ah.

I use an extension called Mute Flash:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5453/

It's experimental, and for older browsers, but it works ok with 3.6 if you force compatibility. Since extensions are open source and the author seems to have died in a fiery car crash, you can even pick it up and make it compatible with Firefox 3.6+ if you have time and skill :)

A newly created extension (Muter) provides such feature. You can have a try: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/muter/

It supports win7/winxp/ubuntu on firefox 3.6-12.
