Drag & Drop from emails & contacts in different folders/addressbooks is not working
Since about round about two weeks the drag & drop funktion is not working properly a) I can't move contacts per drag & drop in a specific addressbook b) Also I can't move/copy emails from e.g. inbox into a specific email subfolder
Is in addressbooks a function to move a selected contact from one addressbook into another addressbook? I didn't find it yet...

What version of Thunderbird?
What is your operating system?
Try restarting Thunderbird in Troubleshoot Mode (see <Help | Troubleshoot Mode>.) Among other things, this will temporarily disable all add-ons, in case one is misbehaving.
Drag and drop works as expected for me using version 153.5.1esr and 153. 153.6.0esr on Windows 11.
Thunderbird: 153.5.1esr 64Bit OS: Linux Mint 22.3 - Cinnamon 64-bit - Cinnamon 6.6.9 Linux Kernel: 7.0.0-42-generic
Thunderbird in Safe-Mode: -> drag & drop of emails and contacts in other folders/subfolder eg. addressbooks still not working...
Is it possible that this unusual behavior has something to to with the funtction "compact folders"? For about two weeks I got a notification in Thunderbird to "compact the email folders", so I did it...
I don't think it has anything to do with compacting. For one thing, folder compaction doesn't do anything to the address book. And a compact operation might affect message drag-and-drop while it's going on (I don't know if it does or not) but after the operation is over it would have no effect. Message folders and Address Books don't have much in common, which makes me suspect an OS issue.
I just tried drag-and-dropping both Address Book contacts and folder messages using Thunderbird 153.5.1esr in Mint 22.3 with kernel 68.0.147 and everything works as expected. I find no other similar complaints, so that makes me think it's not a Thunderbird thing but is something particular to your system. Can you boot to a previous kernel to see if that makes a difference?
It looks like an OS issue. Drag & drop doesn't work at nemo filemanager, too. And there are a few other unsual behavior problems. Locking session/workstation doesn't work as well (function and suspend mode...)
