Gmail is not moving messages to subfolders

William Dahms

I drag messages from Thunderbird's Sent folder into subfolders under Thunderbird's Gmail account but when I log into Gmail directly the messages have not moved out Gmail's Sent folder even though the tags show the subfolder where they should have been placed. What can I do to have those messages appear in subfolders as they do when I am in Thunderbird?

Why not try asking someone at gmail how to use your gmail account in their interface.

Is it even the same email you are looking at? Thunderbird by default makes a copy of sent emails and adds them to the sent folder, or places them in the same folder as the email you are replying to or such other folder as you specify in your account settings.. So does Gmail so you will end up with two copies in the sent folder. Have you modified the Thunderbird action to not make a copy?
