McAfee pop-ups in Firefox

James replied

I have McAfee pop-ups that seem to be linked to Firefox. How do I get rid of them? I have used the McAfee MCPR tool, but the pop-ups remain with a Mozilla Firefox notification box. When I open a link from an email I get nine of them. Seconds ago I just got a system update Mozilla Firefox alert box; if I click on it, I get a page to sign up for McAfee.

These pop-ups looks fake/scam, can you share a screenshot?

1. Remove Allowed Notifications in Firefox Goto Menu ☰ > Settings > Permissions and data find Notifications and look through the list of websites for any unfamiliar sites. Select and click Remove Website. Click Save Changes.

2. Also check your extensions click the Μenu > Extensions and themes (or Ctrl + Shift + A) > Extensions. If you see anything you did not install click the three dots next to it and select Remove.

3. Run a free scan with Malwarebytes or whatever else you like, just to ensure no adware or anything else were installed.

Are these as small popups on bottom right corner of Firefox window? if so these these are just web push notifications from sites you have allowed to send you notifications.
