How do I remove the English (US) dictionary from Thunderbird

Lin replied

It seems that US English is the default dictionary on Thunderbird. I'd like to uninstall it so that the Canadian English dictionary is the default one.

How do I rid myself of the US dictionary?

Thank you in advance for any assistance you may render.

You can set the default dictionary at <Settings | Composition | Spelling | Language>, There you can select the default from any of the installed dictionaries.

I don't know how to get rid of the bundled US English dictionary, but once you change it from the default it won't be used (unless you select it for one-time use during a spell check.)
