I have had to reinstall Ubuntu 20.04 and cannot now set up Thunderbird to regain my messages. It will not accept my email name or password. 153

Thunderbird itself doesn't require a password, so can I assume you mean your email provider's password?

Who is your email provider?

Is this an IMAP or POP3 account?

Did you preserve your Profile from the earlier installation of Thunderbird, or is this a fresh install?
