Arch Linux Wayland FF v150 from Arch repos

When right clicking the context menu appears, but sometimes in odd places, and the disappears, so you can't select anything.

Same is true selecting the Help submenu from the Hamburger menu.

Restarting the browser fixes it for a few minutes, then same problem comes back.

Other people also reporting the same thing - also Linux Wayland: https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/1suounc/comment/oi7jk9u/

On Linux (Wayland) systems, certain popups and context menus will sometimes open in the wrong place, such as the top-left corner of the window. Firefox 147.0.3 has a partial mitigation for this problem and remaining instances will be addressed in a future release. (Bug 2014419)

OK, good to see there is wider awareness.

However, I am not clear about the release path here, and what fix should be in what version

I am running on the firefox-150.0-1 package from the arch repos. I am on that package since Apr 22, and when it was installed during a regular arch update this "context menu misplaced" issue started occurring the same day.

The issue you linked to talks about this being mostly fixed in nightly, and also in 150alhpa and 150beta.

Normally these would would have flowed into 150 release?

That does not tally up with my experience? More like the opposite? ie the fixes mentioned in Bug 2014419 "caused" the issue for my setup maybe? Because it was working "fine for me" on wayland on FF149, before Apr22, for example.

Everything here is tracked under a metabug Wayland Popup issues tracker. Personally, I don’t use Linux very much, so it would be better if you file your issue with your findings on Bugzilla as well.
