Does the Firefox VPN conflict with my Nord VPN?

Jonathan Baylis

I am paying for Nord VPN. Today, Firefox has offered me its free VPN. Should I cancel my Nord VPN? Or should I keep both?

The built-in VPN in desktop Firefox (and more recently in Firefox for Android) only works in the Firefox web browser and not the whole device. The built-in VPN just routes browser traffic through proxy servers with a 50GB monthly data usage limit and is more limited in features compared to a proper full VPN app.

If you do keep using Nord VPN you should not use the built-in VPN in Firefox at the same time.

Hi, any paid VPN is much better than this basic solution.

I've been using Nord VPN and Nord Password Manager for about 5 years. I'm totally lost when it misbehaves but it has been around a long time. Along comes Mozilla FireFox and now we're being advised to use this. This is very confusing and an absolute minefield for me to manage? Any suggestions welcome?
