If you have created a new email account on Orange you cannot add it to your already existing Thunderbird email account, but you have to set up a separate account for the new Orange email address in Thunderbird: go to menu Fichier > Nouveau > Compte de messagerie ..... If you are not familiar with Thunderbird's new account setup wizard go first to Paramètres > Général > Centre de comptes and disable ◽ Créer des comptes depuis le nouveau Centre de comptes

If you got error messages when setting up your new account please post them here, ideally in a screen shot.

Make sure you're using an app password in TB in place of the account password.
