Username on outgoing server
I have just changed to a new pc. Thunderbird was working fine until Saturday when it stopped sending emails. I have discovered that the username on the outgoing server is missing but there is no method of adding it and I have spent all day trying to find a way, including twice reinstalling Thunderbird which has brought back the same issue each time. Any advice on the web seems to be for older versions.

Briony, there are two places in account settings to change the username associated with an outgoing server. Did you find them and try them?
- Click on account name > edit SMTP server
- Click on Outgoing server (SMTP) in the left pane > select the server > edit

Try this: - click settings>privacy&security - click savedpasswords and then showpasswords - if you see an entry for the SMTP server, click to edit the password and enter it there. -

I think I'm braindead today; I was thinking about passwords.
We all have those days.
Thank you both, Rick and David, for responding and Rick for providing the solution. Easy when you know how!! Briony
