Am I right that you want to import an iCalendar (an .ics file) to Thunderbird and not to Firefox? In Thunderbird open the Calendar tab, in th menu bar go to "Events and Tasks" > and click on Import .... (first image) This will open an "Import" tab: click on Continue and follow instructions of the import wizard (second image)
