Hi All,

My laptop got damaged this morning and now that I am logging into Firefox with my new laptop its not syncing anything. Many years of bookmarks and stuff is just gone. Is there any way to get it back?

Kind Regards

Did you use sync on the the old laptop or other device? What do you see on this page? accounts.firefox.com What's the status of the old hard drive? Is it possible to put in an external case?

Hi,

Did you use sync on the the old laptop or other device? Yes, everything synced perfectly when I got my previous device and was always signed in What do you see on this page? accounts.firefox.com. I can see my current device on "Connected Services" but not my old one What's the status of the old hard drive? Is it possible to put in an external case? I have tried but no joy. I believe it completely broken

FYI... Firefox Sync IS NOT A DATA BACKUP SERVICE https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-set-sync-my-computer https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-choose-what-information-sync-firefox https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/features/sync/ https://hacks.mozilla.org/2018/11/firefox-sync-privacy/ Sync is not a backup tool but it is a good sync/transfer/move tool https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/contributors/707681

If you want your info, the only option is to access that old drive data or GAME OVER. You can get your geek on and see if you can access the old drive by booting linux via a live usb. Maybe you have a friend or a IT person at work that's friendly.

Even if a device is not currently connected to your account, its data might still be in the Sync cloud. You can check what data is in the Sync cloud for your Mozilla Account using the About Sync add-on:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/about-sync/

After you install the add-on, you can type or paste about:sync in the address bar and press Enter to load it. The page shows each category of data currently found in the Sync cloud.

Anything useful under bookmarks (check the Records mini-tabs)?
