Thunderbird no longer connects to GMAIL

Until last month, Thunderbird never had any issue connecting to GMAIL accounts to send and receive messages. Suddenly, there is a bug and Thunderbird is not sending or receiving emails from GMAIL. Is anyone else experiencing this? Also, with the current version of Thunderbird, there is no way to insure that I am receiving updates and have the most current version. I have used Thunderbird for decades and it is now very buggy, and getting more difficult to use! - Mark Robbins

Thank you my friends! I installed an earlier backup of my Thunderbird, cleared all browser cookies/chaches, and it fixed it. Appreciate you all!
