Saving open E-mail

Thunderbird has said it will save open E-mails when the program is closed. It does not. Please cause Thunderbird to save and re-open E-mails when it is restarted after having been closed or when the computer turns off during a power failure. Thank you. On the other hand, if I am wrong, and there is an action I need to take to re-open opened E-mail, please instruct me. John La Farge

Help/Troubleshooting Info, Profile Folder, Open Folder, close TB, delete session.json, then open and close TB a few times to see if the set of open tabs is retained between restarts.
