Hi. My new Gmail account cannot be added to Thunderbird.

It is working on the WEB, but I cannot find the area to manually configue the email settings.

Is there anyway I can have someone log onto my computer to set it up.

I am willing to pay for this service.

Thanks

Hi Thanks for a reply.

But, I cannot add a google account. I really need someone to call me

I also deleted an email account, that I thought I could transfer the old emails to a new email account.

But, No luck.

When I go to add an email account, it tells me Thunderbird failed to find the settings. Yet, the email works in Outlook.

I am happy to pay someone to help me. PLEASE. That person may need to log into my computer.

Thanks

James will be around and edit you last post as well to remove your contact numbers, unless I do it first. There is not telephone support and it is against the term of the forum to publish your phone number in the public forum.

Thunderbird knows the setting for Gmail account. They are on the web here. https://autoconfig.thunderbird.net/v1.1/google.com

That you are being advised that Thunderbird can not find the settings tells me you have an issue with your firewall blocking Thunderbird access to it's database of settings This firewall is most frequently a component of third part antivirus/anti malware products that are simply not functioning correctly. Some years ago there were issues with routers from one of the USA's major ISPs. but I have not heard of a hardware firewall being an issue in about a decade. So I would be guessing something like Norton antivirus or Kaspersky.

Hello there

No Thunderbird does not contact clients to talk with them direct for technical help or other support.if you have a question visit https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/contact/ Thunderbird is an open source email client. A hardware firewall if these hardware is configured for Thunderbird it s oké to use it seems to protect and has layers , it can protect software programs but not for Thunderbird use only in most times it protect the complete systems that are running there on that pc computer. If there are some security issues then check these security softwares as described above. Thunderbird do have these functions to connect to G mail. So reinstalling and installing works.

You may have to turn off the experimental account hub in settings, then set up your account.

I do not know if this is true for gmail accounts.

I believe Rick is spot on - I've seen a report where a gmail based account with non-gmail domain name crashed on a mac.

brozowski99 - your results after disabling account hub please?
