login on new computer
On my new computer I have a Thunderbird Icon. When I click on it to see my Emails I am getting a message to login and fill in my pasword. Now you are telling me there is no pasword. The internet provider Orange .fr doesn't know anything about a pasword either. I have still access to Thunderbird trough my old computer so I can still communicate with you. re. Johan V.

ALL email accounts require passwords, including Orange. Depending on the email provider's policies, you may be able to use the password stored on old computer. click settings>privacy&security and click the saved passwords button and then the show passwords button. Prior to displaying that, thunderbird may prompt for your Windows login PIN (assuming you use Windows).
According to Orange "Generate your password for third-party software and messaging applications". That means you have to create a special password to use in TB in place of the regular account password.
