Videos don't play on Firefox

more options

I cannot get certain videos to play on Firefox. YouTube, Instagram, Tumblr all can play videos. Pretty much everything else doesn't work. Patreon, I get a black screen. On Twitch, I can only see the 'not currently streaming' screen, even if they're currently live, and VODs don't work. My computer specs are below. Operating system is Windows 10, I use Windows Defender for anti-virus. Everything works completely fine in other browsers. Here's everything I've tried to fix this:

  • Updating Firefox
  • Updating my computer
  • Running in Incognito
  • Running in troubleshooting mode
  • Allowing autoplay
  • Disabling hardware acceleration
  • Disabling addons
  • Clearing cache and data
  • Enabling/disabling DRM content
  • Installing Windows Media Pack

My specs: Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.8 GB usable) Storage 932 GB HDD TOSHIBA DT01ACA100, 477 GB SSD Micron 2300 NVMe 512GB Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (8 GB) Device ID C6C4BD2F-BD36-40B6-A917-13896770194D Product ID 00325-82058-09721-AAOEM System Type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

This has been going on for over a year now. I've gone through all of the above troubleshooting steps multiple times. The only progress I've made is getting YouTube from nonfunctional to working again.

Show proof of the issue by providing links and screenshots. Windows home or pro? If Windows Pro version, try testing in Windows Sandbox (VM) to see if you have the same issue. https://www.howtogeek.com/399290/how-to-use-windows-10s-new-sandbox-to-safely-test-apps/

What driver version for RTX? https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/ Also try with windows in safe mode with networking.

I'm on the Home version, not Pro. Driver version is 32.0.15.8097. I got two screenshots. One is from a Patreon video, which loads a completely black element that I can't interact with at all. The other is from a currently live Twitch channel, which shows up for me as if they're offline. Again I can't interact with the video element at all.

Links... Also, your screenshots are not in Troubleshoot Mode

I appreciate that you're trying to help, but I'm feeling very frustrated with these responses. I need more specificity when given instructions. What links are you asking for? I wasn't told to use troubleshooting mode for the screenshots, so including details like that beforehand will help me get the info needed quicker.
