Incoming emails from my BT email account are in gibberish (bitdefender)

On 11 August I started to receive emails on my Thunderbird account that in 'gibberish' eg: X-SNCR-VADESECURE: CLEA . X-RazorGate-Vade: gggruggvucftvghtrhhoucdtuddrgeeffedrtdefgddufeekfedtucetufdoteggodetrfdotffvucfrrhhofhhilhgvmecuueftkffvkffujffvgffngfevqffonecuuegrihhlohhuthemuceftddunecutfhouhhtvghrqddqpfgvohhlrghnvgculdejmdenucfjughrpefhufffvfhrggfokfgtgfeshhhqredtuhdtheenucfhrhhomhepfdfrohifvghrpffkfdcuoehnohdqrhgvphhlhieshhhomhgvrdhp... etc., etc.

I have tried everything that is suggested in various forums, Google etc and nothing seems to correct this.

I am running Thunderbird v141 and can find some of the suggested menu options, for example: Text Encoding.

When I try 'Repair folder', 'Trouble shooting mode', 'Repair Text Encoding' etc etc nothing works and I can't restore any of the affected emails.

I'd be grateful if you would sort this for me.

Solution update posted at 8:48 Eastern time (12:48 UTC) Thursday by Alexlandru_BD, an admin at bitdefender, "The developers reverted the changes made in the last signature update and this should do the trick until a permanent fix is deployed. Just click on update in systray and reboot once completed. But keep in mind this change is being rolled out gradually, so it may not reach everyone at the same time.."
