Can't connect to AOL

AOL made me do a 2 step verification and now Thunderbird won't connect to AOL. Thunderbird keeps asking for my AOL password, which I enter, but it won't connect. I'm guessing it's because AOL wants the code that they text me before allowing a connection. So if this is the case, how do I get around it? Thanks much for any help.
