TB stops showing emails in all accounts

I open TB and everything is fine = about 6 accounts. At some point, all accounts stop showing emails in the right pane. The navigation pane still shows the email count in each account and folder. A message in the right pane says there is no emails to show. The only way to get it back is to close TB and restart it. What is happening and how to fix it????????? W11, TB 1.38.0.0 x64

bump TB=138.0.2 now I also found that if I click on any account heading, everything comes back.

Are your messages or Thunderbird profile on a file share or UNC path?

No, it is setup exactly as it was in the previous version of TB - I only updated to 138.0.2.
