Thunderbird shows that there are 22 messages in the spam folder, but it does not display the individual emails. I would like to be able to see them. The same issue occurs with the "Junk" and "Trash" folders, or sometimes the number of emails shown does not match the number actually visible. Thank you!

You have activated the Quick Filter "Show only messages with attachments". (see image) As long as your spam messages don't contain attachments, TB won't display any message in the thread pane. Close your Quick Filter and your spam messages will be displayed in the thread pane.....
