Thunderbird advert has taken over my message view
A Thunderbird advert has taken over my message view. I'm an enthusiastic user but would prefer to see my messages rather than a Thunderbird "Support Us" advert. How do I get rid of it?

There is no way as far as I can see to delete the TB ad. I've attached an image of the Wide View panel.
Go to Settings > General > Start Page and uncheck "When Thunderbird launches, show the Start Page in the message area" (see image)

Are you seeing https://start.thunderbird.net/ ?
It has always been there. It's mostly a page with links helpful to most users.
Modified
Thanks Wayne. I cannot see the page you linked - just get a 404 Not Found. What I am seeing is a Welcome to Thunderbird Support Us advertisement. The message panel in Wide View is now split in half horizontally with the TB ad occupying the top half, leaving only the bottom half to view emails. There is no way as far as I can see to delete the TB ad. I've attached an image of the Wide View panel.

Sorry. SUMO is lame by linking the punctuation.
The correct link is https://start.thunderbird.net/. It's not an advertisement, it's a help page. Others who just reported this say it is caused by the conversations addon.
