Thunderbird email
I am trying to activate Thunderbird email, but have been unable to do so. I have followed the instructions provided here, but when it comes to signing in to Yahoo mail, I am unable to because I do not have a cell phone; only a landline with no bell and whistles, just the basics.
I am definitely not computer literate and am at a loss as to what my next step should be. At present, it seems as though I am receiving emails, but am unable to send any.
Once I get my Thunderbird email set up properly, will my emails still identify as @yahoo.com or as @Thunderbird.com? I would prefer the latter. My family and most friends would be happy with that, and might even bring you more business.
Thank you for the patience you have shown me in this matter. I apologize for my lack of knowledge in matters of technology but, at eighty-two, I didn't think I would need to know about these things.

Hello, Carolyne, here's what to do.
- click the hamburger' menu (three short stacked lines) in upper right
- click 'new account' and then click email
- on next screen, enter your name and your email address. NOTHING MORE.
- press enter key and thunderbird will set up the account. Press DONE
- next, a screen will popup from Yahoo, asking for your password. enter that and press enter key
- yahoo will now ask to do extra validation. The screen will look like the attached screenshot with the words "Is it really you?"
- one of the options is a phone call. click that and you will receive a call on your landline phone with a code. I suggest having pencil and paper ready so you can write it down as codes may be stated quickly
- then type in the code and you're done. :)
The email will be at yahoo, not thunderbird. Let me know if you need more assistance.
UPDATE: If the account is already set up, you may just need to proceed from step 5 in my earlier note.
