Re: Thunderbird 128.7.0esr (64-bit) under Windows 10

Unread incoming messages are indicated by a little red dot within the Thunderbird logo icon in the Windows notification area. When operating with a Unified Inbox, opening those messages in the Unified folder does not always clear the red dot, nor does the unread message counter in the left pane always decrement properly. What it seems to take to reset things when this happens is to expand the Inbox tree and simply click on the account name associated with the unread message. Anyone else see this?

Does manual "get new mail", also clear it? (Bug 272328)

The notification system had been broken, so posting again to be sure you saw my response earlier. If you still have trouble, please post more detail.

Hey, Wayne, thanks for re-posting your note; I didn't see it previously. In answer thereto, I'm really not sure, as I don't do a manual 'get new mail' very often, relying entirely on a 10-minute interval for auto-fetch. However, I will temporarily deactivate that function today and post findings back here. Thanks for your attention, I hope whatever I discover can help.
