Due to a hard drive failure I am needing to re-load my Thunderbird emails to a new computer. My issue is I can't remember my password (which is on my old, dead laptop). Is there any way to re-set it as I need access to my emails?

You would need to reset the password with your Email Provider. Thunderbird only uses the passwords that you supply to it. It's a shame that your HD has failed - it would have been possible to use it as an external HD and to use the profiles to install them on your new computer.
