Three updates this morning then Couldn't load XPCOM
Windows 10 Home, Version 10.0.19045, 64 bit Mozilla installed
This morning I opened Mozilla 4 different times. Three times it installed an update then opened. The fourth time I got the dreaded box "Couldn't open XPCOM."
Two days ago I got the same box and just downloaded Mozilla again, it worked and I went on thinking it was a fluke.
I've read the other questions and answers pertaining to this. It didn't look like anyone else has had this problem recently. Is there anyway I can keep this from happening when I download it again?

If you get this error, DL from the website and reinstall. Thereafter you should not have a problem.
An error message like XPCOM missing or about platform version or entry points not found can happen because of a failed Thunderbird update that left you with a mixture of old and updated files in the Thunderbird installation folder. This can happen in case security software was keeping a handle of some of the files in the Thunderbird program folder preventing Thunderbird from replacing all the files.
You need to reinstall Thunderbird and possibly remove the Thunderbird program folder to ensure that all files are replaced. You may have to disable security software temporarily in case the problem persists.
This can occur with desktop Firefox also.
