I'd like to put the icon on my toolbar to access it when I need to, but I can't find any way to add it to the toolbar. All articles I found with the same kinds of questions are over a year old and for old versions of Firefox. I have Windows 10 Firefox version 128.

Click the jigsaw icon, right-click your extension and select Pin to toolbar.
