I synchronized my Mac and iphone Firefox password accounts so I can share passwords between devices. I just realized I've lost all the passwords on my Mac. The only passwords I see are the ones stored on my iphone

Is there a solution to retrieving the passwords on my Mac?

Thanks

Fortunately it seems all hope isn't lost :). I found the logins on my firefox android. How do I sync such that all the passwords on mobile move to desktop?

I keep seeing conflicting info on several boards

Do you still see logins if you open logins.json in a Firefox tab?

You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page (Root directory).

I don't know how to access it via a firefox tab but I was able to access a logins.json file and another logins-backup.json file

Are there logins in the file that do not appear in about:logins ?

You can simply drag the in an empty Firefox tab or use "File -> Open File" (Command+O).

I've opened it with firefox, thank you. Most of them don't appear on the about:logins page

Thanks.

What keys are in the hidden logins? Do those have syncCounter or everSynced or deleted key ? These seem to be there normally.

For most of them this is what I see;

id guid timepasswordchanged deleted: "true"

So it looks that they are lost for good ?

Is there still some data on the Sync server or is that lost as well ?

You can install the About Sync extension to check what data is stored on the Sync server via the about:sync page provided by this extension.

Close and restart Firefox to access the about:sync page added by this extension (see the about:about page for possible about pages).

I've installed the extension but unsure of what to look for on the sync server.

The Summary status states the total number of records and the ones that have been deleted

I would be very careful with connecting that mobile device to this Sync account as it is quite possible that all logins are deleted immediately and on mobile there is no way to backup the logins like possible on desktop.

I took the plunge and fortunately it worked. I'm moving to a 3rd party password manager going forward. don't want to ever deal with this again.

Thanks so much for your help
