I am using version 115.5.1, but I have noticed this with previous versions as well. When I copy the contents of my Profile to back it up, I get the following message for SQLITE files: Item Not Found Could not find this item This item is no longer located in C:\Users\hasmo\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\arbdst7o.default Verify the item's location and try again abook.sqlite-shm Type: SQLITE-SHM file Size 32.0 KB Date modified: 12/4/2023 9:31 AM

If I click "try again", I get the same message. If I click "skip", the copying proceeds until the next SQLITE file, and I repeat the skipping process. This appears to happen for all the SQLITE files (SHM and WAL). Fortunately, I have not had occasion to need the Profile file to replace what I am currently using in Thunderbird, but I have had issues in the past that required me to use the back up to replace/recreate my Profile. My question is about these SQLITE files. Will skipping them in the copying be a problem later if I need to use the back up? If so, how do I keep the SQLITE files in copying process?

Thanks, Harry

Thanks for the reply, David. Sorry, I left out a step. I do close Thunderbird before I copy the files from the Profile. I followed the rest of your instructions, and everything seemed to go OK with no error messages. I think I've got it! Thanks!

Please explain how you are copying. I copy mine regularly with no such warnings.

This is an answer to David's question regarding my copying process. 1) I open Troubleshooting Information in Thunderbird and use the Open Folder button to open the Profile Folder. This shows me the contents of the arbdst7o-release folder, which contains my profile info. 2) I highlight everything in the folder and do a control C to copy. 3) I go to my backup folder which contains another arbdst7o-release folder. I delete the contents in the backup and then do a paste to put in the updated files. The dates on many of the items is the current date, so I assume these are the most recent versions.

Okay, what you're attempting is being done while Thunderbird is still active and that can cause some files to NOT be copied, since they are currently open in Thunderbird. Once you get to profile folder, exit thunderbird, and then I suggest backing up one folder in Windows File explorer, so that you can then highlight the folder by name and copy in one click instead of needing to highlight and copy each file/folder. Then delete prior backup and save the new one.
