I have a client that sends a weekly newsletter using a list called news, it work for a long time. now he gets a error news <> is not a valid email address because it is not of the form user@host. You must correct it before sending the email.

It works on my setup, using my email, same version of TB, different domain name but the same server. I tried rename the list to a email address news@domain.com it acts like it sends, but no one gets the email. reninstall TB on his rig, same outcome. haven't had any luck searching for an answer.

Thanks for the reply, I found that post earlier and nothing in it helped, I had also tried safe mode with no luck. there were mo addons and I had reset the defaults. I found it odd that it also would not auto complete when typing in any addresses or lists.

So I UN-installed Thunderbird, renamed the profile folder and reinstalled. Everything works as it should now.

Thanks for your time!

There's a long list of remedies: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1284138

Does the same thing happen in safe/troubleshoot mode (hold Shift when launching TB)?
