Firefox is slow and crasches several times a day. It does not help to restart computer and it does not help to uninstall firefox and make a new installation. When newstarted activity manager shows Firefox(8) this number increases with time. there also seems to be some gpu activity wich cannot be seen if I use chrome instead.

Best regards

Please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A list of Submitted/Unsubmitted Crash Reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Submitted Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

The crashes are about a shutdown hang and a crash is forced.

MOZ_CRASH Reason (Sanitized) : Shutdown hanging at step AppShutdownConfirmed. Something is blocking the main-thread.

Is also shows that this is about the backgroundupdate task.

BackgroundTaskName : backgroundupdate
ReleaseChannel : release
SafeMode : 0
ShutdownProgress : quit-application
SubmittedFrom : Client

You can check this thread about a similar shutdown hang.
