On my Windows 11 desktop PC, desktop Internet shortcuts created by dragging and dropping links are white squares. How do I change this so that the shortcut icon better reflects the website it leads back to?

You can try to toggle "browser.shell.shortcutFavicons" on the about:config page to see if that has effect.
