How to close one copy of Firefox so I can use it, please.

Please tell me how to get to using Firefox, please? As it says a copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy can be open at a time. I am unable to locate duplicate Firefox to delete it? Please help! I do like Firefox when I can use it, but now am absolutely locked out of internet because of this.
