Formatting issue when sending emails from Thunderbird to Gmail

When I send an email from Thunderbird to Gmail, the formatting ends up strangely.

First screen shot: message being composed in Thunderbird.

Second screenshot: result received in Gmail (note that the paragraph is weirdly compressed and there's a lot of extra whitespace, which I don't normally see in Gmail messages).

I've tried using Paragraph, Body Text, and Preformat, as well as Fixed and Variable Width - doesn't change anything. I've also set mail.wrap_long_lines to false in the Config Editor - didn't fix the issue. Any other ideas?

I don't believe that is white space; the message is wrapping, and it looks like it is wrapping at line 72. I have longlines set to true and cannot duplicate what you're seeing. I also changed mailnews.wrap to 72 from 0 and saw no change. Even when I set to wrap at 72, the lines still wrapped at end of screen. I checked and my test had Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8; format=flowed in the message. As I recall, format-flowed tells receiving client to NOT wrap short, but at end of line. You might check your outgoing format to see what the setting is.

Thanks so much! I changed longlines to true and mailnews.wrap to 0 (for me, it was set to 72), and this resolved the issue.
