ISP's mail server authentication fails

Please help get Thunderbird to send the password that has worked for a long time until recently to my ISP's in.bvu.net server and be accepted again instead of responding to me that "Login to server...failed." So with Thunderbird I cannot send or receive emails. My ISP says they have had many "third party" email users experience the problem but they offer no help. I/we/my office must use the ISP's webmail service which is clumsy. Any advice? Thanks.

I can't find anything about "in.bvu.net". Who exactly is your ISP/email service provider?
