Can't send email; TB creates false certificate problems; other issues (Not Responding)
Mozilla, please have a look at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1180314 This thread was "archived", but I have the same problem, as well as others, and left comments there. I'm finding TB increasingly slow and glitchy in Win10, as described in my replies on that question. I'd also like a leaner, cleaner, faster and more reliable version of TB, plus a program to reorganize, combine, consolidate, read, archive and export emails from old profiles.

I finally got to send an e-mail! I changed the SMTP connection security from SSL/TLS to STARTTLS. I think the port changed from 465 to 587. I got a message from TB stating that it couldn't send it because the certificate was wrong, then got a TB a window asking me to confirm the security exception. I did. Then I resent and had to enter the new password for the new server. We could use better instructions. It finally worked. I hope it stays that way. I'm still getting TB windows on other accounts/profiles repeatedly asking me to confirm security exceptions for certificates, even though they have worked for years, and I check each one off as a permanent exception each time the window pops up. I know very little about certificates, and don't want to deal with them. It's a little like uber-needy Windows XP years ago, when it constantly asked me to check security problems I knew nothing about. I took it back to Sam's Club and got Win2000 instead. Less is more.
