Thunderbird can't update to the latest version. Download a fresh copy of Thunderbird and we’ll help you to install it.
I'm getting this message once a day. This started sometime after the update to version 102, and I've had to download / upgrade for the last couple of minor updates. Any assistance would be welcome so automatic updates would start again. These messages pop up even when there is no new release available and I'm at the current release.
Personal PC specs include: OS Name & Version Microsoft Windows 11 Home 10.0.22000 Build 22000
I do use AVG Internet Security as well as NordVPN.
Screenshots are from a release back to show that I was on the current release (my Thunderbird settings are on automatic update) yet was being prompted to get a new release.
Chosen solution
After a couple of days (with no nagging popups), just attempted to use Thunderbird to update to the latest release 102.3.2 - and success. This issue was an AVG (firewall / network traffic) issue and not a Thunderbird issue. Thanks @christ1 for the information.

AVG is essentially the same as Avast.
Modified
Thanks - I'm on the release channel. Not on beta channel and not looking to switch there. Nothing about Avast on that beta page when I reviewed it?
Apologies, that was the wrong link. Please check again. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1384853#answer-1525849
Thanks! Looked at that post and have done the following to AVG (that should exclude these sites from being blocked by AVG).
