I've taken Thunderbird off my system since it is not recognising me anymore because I downgraded with B.T. So lost everything yet again and now cannot even reinstall Thunderbird!

You 'downgraded with B.T.'? I'm not sure what you mean. And what errors prevent you from installing Thunderbird?
