Only 3 of 4 closed firefox windows do open

Hello,

yesterday i closed my firefox with 4 open windows. Altough firefox is set to open all tabs and windows at startup, only 3 of 4 reopened again. I can not find the fourth one in "recently closed windows" and nowhere else.

Are there options? For example scrolling through the "window-history" in the Sync-Account?

Enter about:config in the URL bar and set browser.sessionstore.max_windows_undo to 4 or more.

Did you look at the history listing. I recommend making them bookmarks as eventually you will close and loose those sites.

Yes i looked up the history listing but some of the Websites have been opened days ago and since i use this computer for business purposes there are hundreds of websites listes in this timespan.

Making every Website a bookmark costs me a lot of time so this is not an option.

Good idea! Didn't know about that. I have changed the setting so this won't happen again.

Any ideas for getting back the "lost" window?

Note that there is also the browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo pref for closed tabs that currently defaults to 25.

Use one of these to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox Title bar, especially if you have multiple windows open to prevent losing tabs in unnoticed windows.

  • "3-bar" menu button -> Exit (Power button)
  • Windows: File -> Exit
  • Mac: Firefox -> Quit Firefox
  • Linux: File -> Quit

Thanks for those tipps. Settings have been changed and firefox will be quit with the exit button in the future.
