After using Thunderbird for a couple of years or more I just installed a new version. Now I am getting numerous messages that look like they might be answering a message that I sent. A couple of messages I opened are coming from "automatic reply". Is there a way to cure this or can I reinstall an earlier version of Thunderbird.

I don't think the problem is related to the new installation. It sounds like someone is sending spam emails using your email address as the 'from' address. Or maybe it is Thunderbird 102, it is very buggy.
